As Milcon's Lead Estimator, you’ll play a critical role in our growth and success. You’ll:
- Lead the Estimating Process: Prepare detailed estimates and timely bid submissions for complex civil construction projects. Read and interpret plans and specifications and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Possess Basic Project Management Skills: You'll understand contract management, submittals, scheduling and material procurement.
- Champion Collaboration: Work side by side with our passionate PMs, foreman, and owner from bid to project closeout.
- Drive Results: Oversee project setup, change orders, and help ensure cost-effective, successful implementations.
- Build Relationships: Negotiate, communicate, and foster trust with clients, owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of proven expertise in civil construction estimating, such as utilities, earthwork, or road construction preferred
- Mastery of construction processes from bidding to closeout, equipment choices, and safety standards
- Experience with HeavyBid construction software and MS Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Strong understanding of specs and blueprints with high level of attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and a drive to continuously learn and deliver better outcomes
